Dartmoor Explorations

A collection of walks, discoveries, insights and pictures of exploring Dartmoor National Park

Whiteworks

Whiteworks is a former mining ‘hamlet’ south of Princetown. It once was the one of the largest tin mines on Dartmoor. The original cottages and their inhabitants here worked in this industry, until the area became used increasingly for farming in the 20th century. The site has now largely been abandoned. One cottage is still inhabited and two others are used by Outdoor Adventure Groups.
